Is is our intent that our Beedon computer prgrammers and IT experts will:

  •  develop their computational thinking skills and creativity.
  • develop the knowledge and vocabulary needed to think, speak and work like an IT expert.
  •  build on their knowledge using information technology skills and by becoming computer literate.
  • know how to keep themselves and others safe online.
  • master the use of different programs and technology so they are competent in their use and can use them to enhance their learning across the curriculum

We believe in delivering fun and engaging lessons which help to raise standards and allow all pupils to achieve to their full potential. By Year Six, our pupils are given more freedom to use other Computing tools such as working with ‘green screen’ technology and coding using ‘Scratch’. Our staff use Purple Mash as a tool to support their subject knowledge and planning and have access to training from subject specialists at our local computing hub.

Online safety is regularly referred to in our Computing and PSHE lessons and external workshops are used to enhance pupils' and parents' understanding of these ever-changing area.

This academic year, pupils in our Key Stage 2 classes are beginning with a computing crash course to help address gaps in their learning from the Covid lockdowns.

We are fortunate to have a good stock of pupil laptops, tablets and programmable devices.  All classrooms have interactive panels.
